Monthly Club Nights

The SeaMonkey’s gather every fourth Thursday evening all year round to share tales of recent dives, get up to speed with the latest news and happenings, organise a dive, meet some new buddies all over a feed and a drink or two. Held at the Ringwood store most months, these club nights are a social get together in the comfort of the spacious garden and barbeque area over the sunny months and often themed dinner nights over winter and sometimes even a seafood cook-up from the prior weekends conquests.

Regular Club Dives

In addition to our regular monthly social nights, the SeaMonkey’s organise regular dives to a variety of Melbourne’s most popular and well renowned dive sites, along with a healthy dose of those lesser known but just as amazing sites. These club dives include midweek and after work dives as well as weekend shore and boat dives around Port Phillip and Westernport. Many dives are hosted by the club and are run by one of the metro DIVE Crew meaning there is an experienced and qualified tour leader, whilst others are organised by club and committee members. The club does not charge for these dives; the only cost may be your charter fees, equipment rental or air fills (whichever, if any are applicable). To give you an idea of the variety of dives we regularly dive, below is a list of the most popular club dive destinations.

• Flinders Pier (Dive with the Sea Dragons & Giant Rays)
• Mornington Pier (An eclectic dive site, that changes everytime; some of the stars include Sea Horses, Old Wives & BoarFish
• Blairgowrie Marina (Exploding with colour; prolific soft corals, sponges and macro life)
• Point Linley (Blue Devils “Victoria’s Clownfish”, Sea Horses, Cuttlefish, Snapper, Salmon)
• Cray Hunts (Learn from the cray hunters of the club and bring home a prize for the partner, boss or family and get in the good books)

Dive Expeditions & Weekends Away

We all know how hard it is to find the time to make the most of our hobbies and favourite recreational past times in today’s work heavy society; so we often organise short diving expeditions to help you escape the rat race and experience diving locations. These expeditions are sometimes to local areas such as Phillip Island and Wilsons Promontory and sometimes to regional and interstate destinations like Tasmania, Merimbula and South Australia, we often arrange these expeditions over long weekends and public holidays.

Group Travel

Although the metro DIVE Crew and SeaMonkey’s Club members believe that Victoria is home to some of the most unique and diverse diving in the world; we do like to mix it up and checkout some of the other world class diving destinations and organise a variety of overseas and interstate group trips to locations such as Vanuatu, Fiji, Micronesia, Mexico, The Coral Sea, The Solomon Islands and many more. More than just a dive holiday; these group trips are a life changing experience bringing together diving in some of the world’s most unique destinations, whilst experiencing the cultures and developing lifelong friendships that you will value forever.

Staying In Touch

In today's hectic lives, it is often hard to keep in touch with your dive buddies and can from time to time become hard to make it to club events; so we have setup the SeaMonkey’s club website http://seamonkeys.metrodive.com.au) where you can organize events (both diving and non-diving), share your photos and post blogs about your dives as well as keep up to date on the coming events, activities, dives and trips. Our members’ site is truly unique and we believe the only one of its kind for a Dive Club in not only Victoria but Australia.

In addition to our unique members site; both The SeaMonkey’s and metro DIVE are also on Facebook and Twitter to help you stay up to date with the latest news… as it happens and without delay.

That’s why metro DIVE and The SeaMonkey’s send out a weekly e-news with all of the important ‘need-to-know’ updates in a short update every Wednesday ensuring you are informed with plenty of time to get that tank filled, book your rental gear and tee up that all important dive buddy for the weekends diving adventures away from the email, phones, lawnmower and washing machine.

Monthly Newsletter

Less like a newsletter and more like an exclusive magazine; our monthly members newsletter is  sent out to all Silver & Gold members (and available from the shop by anybody) and contains all sorts of interesting articles, tips, reviews as well as the latest in diving news not only around metro DIVE and The SeaMonkey’s but throughout Victoria, Australia and even around the globe. For those who like to plan ahead and prefer not to rely on the instant last minute organisation of the online world we also publish details about upcoming club dives, social functions, members only seminars and charter schedules.

How to Get Involved!

It’s easy to become a SeaMonkey; simply drop into the store at 279 Maroondah Highway- Ringwood, give on of the friendly crew a call on 1300 METRODIVE (1300 638 763) or fill out and send us a club membership application form.

Once processed, you will receive your membership pack which includes your member gifts such as fill cards, membership card, monkeyMERCH™merchandise (for applicable membership levels) and much more.
